Every piece at Pops Glass Shop starts with flame. I shape molten borosilicate glass by hand, building color, movement, and depth into each design. I’ve been creating glass art for about five years, with a particular love for making one-of-a-kind marbles that combine bold forms and vibrant color. My designs often appear chaotic at first glance, but hidden within that chaos is structure, movement, and intention. I’m fascinated by the optics of glass and its ability to bend light, distort perspective, and trick the eye. Inspired by the vastness and mystery of space, I love creating pieces that feel like tiny universes—something vast, colorful, and unexpected that you can hold in your hand.

I create handmade, new jewelry with refurbished vintage pieces from Italian antique markets that I personally hunt and make each year.

I only use real pearls and hand string them myself. My other items are bracelets, rings and earrings, all using Italian vintage coins and other vintage items.

I use many different techniques to create my art. I search for vintage/antique jewelry, that has basically been destroyed, and refurbish it so that it can be used in a modern jewelry piece again. I also find vintage items that are not jewelry and use them to create new pieces. For example, I will find old brass decorative elements on an antique wardrobe and cut/rework them into pendants for my modern jewelry creations.

I design art inspired by molas, a textile art form of the Guna Indians from my country, Panama, and some regions of Colombia. Born and raised in Panama, I felt disconnected from my culture when I moved to the U.S., and while looking for a special gift for close friends and not able to find it, Papermolas was born. My first pieces were made of color cardstock but I transitioned to digital, printing my art on hard surfaces. l have also made them out of thin wood and are layered the way I made the original paper art. I have always been a maker. I was a jeweler by trade until a very difficult pregnancy forced me to examine all aspects of what I put on and in my body; food, soap, lotions, shampoo, the laundry detergent we use. Once I began restructuring my habits in a way that worked with the cleanest greenest ingredients and materials I could find, it was clear as day that my hands were meant for more. I have spent 2 years devoting all of my extra time to learning about tallow skincare, botanicals and natural medicine. Every single product I make is thoughtfully produced in a way that is safe for even the youngest skin, and sustainable for the Earth we live on. While I will always produce and sell my jewelry, I want to be a part of this revolution that has led people to abandon products with lengthy labels and man-made chemicals in their ingredient list. I often encourage the folks I meet to try and make their own products, and offer instructions if they want them. No one has ever told me that a piece of jewelry I made helped them sleep at night, but the things I have made with the intention of healing have really helped people in ways that were unimaginable to me. My practice is heavily influenced by childhood memories learning how to shepherd my family’s small farm. The characters in the work use humor and play to memorialize the animal’s spirits that once lived there. Using clay fired to cone 5, I use hand building techniques to make sculptural forms and wheel throwing techniques to create functional ware. The carved details are embellished with under glazes, and then clear coated with a gloss finish.
